At full load, the HOWO Tractor Truck’s fuel efficiency is at its lowest. The engine is working at its maximum capacity, constantly burning fuel to generate the necessary power. The MPG could be reduced by as much as 35 – 40% compared to when the truck is unloaded.
Now, there are a few factors that can influence how much the fuel efficiency changes with the load. One of them is the type of terrain. If you’re driving on a flat highway, the impact of the load on fuel efficiency is somewhat predictable. But if you’re going up and down hills, the story is different.
When going uphill, a loaded truck has to fight against gravity. The engine has to produce even more power to climb the slope, which means even higher fuel consumption. On the other hand, when going downhill, a loaded truck can use its momentum to save a bit of fuel. But this doesn’t completely offset the extra fuel burned on the uphill sections.
Another factor is the driving style. Aggressive driving, like rapid acceleration and hard braking, can significantly increase fuel consumption, especially when the truck is loaded. A smooth – driving style, with gradual acceleration and gentle braking, can help to mitigate the negative impact of the load on fuel efficiency.
The condition of the truck also plays a role. If the engine is well – maintained, with clean air filters, properly inflated tires, and a tuned – up engine, it will operate more efficiently. This means that the drop in fuel efficiency with increasing load won’t be as severe as it would be in a poorly maintained truck.
